What Does Spirituality Mean To Us? Fetzer Institute Publishes New Study

“What does it mean to be spiritual?” The Fetzer Institute has been researching that question and believes that many people will be very interested in their findings. The results of a nationwide spirituality study have recently been published and an engaging website that Interactive Knowledge designed and developed is launched. The website is a portal for the research results and offers access to the full report document in addition to news and articles that the study generates. 

An interactive component of the website looks more deeply at the study participants’ responses and shares their thoughts on a wide variety of questions. The website provides interesting data visualizations and creates a context for how this new insight can be applied to everyday life. One interesting result of the preliminary interviews that took place in 2019 in three cities around the country was the lack of connection that participants perceived between their own spirituality and civic life. This will be looked at more closely as results from the nationwide survey are shared with researchers around the world.
