Our Grandparents’ Name On The Land Exhibition Complete

We've wrapped up final production on Sealaska Heritage Institute's newest exhibition. Our involvement in this project spanned over 20 months. The final steps included completion of a Tlingit language video that uses watercolor illustrations from a children's book to tell the Salmon Boy story – an ancient Tlingit tale. We also worked with our partners at Pixeldust Studios to create an original animated video that shows how halibut are attracted to and captured by the traditional wooden halibut hook.

The three interactives, Native Voices on the Land, Halibut, Attack the Hook! And Salmon People have been packaged as stand-alone apps and distributed to over a dozen school districts in Southeastern Alaska. The interactives, along with original curricula materials, will help Alaskan school children better understand the native people who have been living there for over 10,000 years.
